In this slideshow you can see all the bikes I rode since I got the driving license for real motorbikes, beginning with a Honda CM200T.
I rode her two years until my driving license was upgraded so I was allowed to ride motorbikes with more then 20kW power.
Then I bought a Yamaha XJ600S Diversion. With this one I have been to Italy, Monaco and France. Unfortunatly a deer got in my way in april 1995, I crashed and
the bike burned out. I was lucky not to be hurt. And the insurance came up for the damage, so I bought a Suzuki GSF 600 N Bandit as replacement.
In winter '96 I decided not to ruin the Bandit in the poor German winter weather and bought a Suzuki DR125 to ride this bike in the winter.
I shared this bike with my brother so he rode it in the summer and me in the winter. Luckily my brother got the driving license for bigger motorbikes and we bought a Yamaha TT 600 E in June '97.
This bike was stolen out of my garage in Aachen/Germany on 01/17/98. Our insurance luckily came up for the theft and so my brother bought a new TT 600 E for himself and I bought a used DR 350 S to have fun offroad.
After a driving course by Moto Aktiv on the Nürburgring I attended in August 1998 the decision has been made : I needed a new, lighter bike than the Bandit. Seeking all brands und considering my budget I finaly
bought a Yamaha TRX 850 in May 1999. I startet working for my final exam in January 2000 and that's the reason why I decided to sell the Suzuki. Just not enough time for two bikes at that moment. After I completed the exam, I started working as IT professional at a local company. With some more money to spend, I bought a used Suzuki DRZ-400S as an offroad bike. Kept this one until my girlfriend and I decided to get married and buy a house. Again, there was no time to take care of two bikes, so the Suzuki had to go. By the time of the 40th birthday I felt like I need a bike that fits my age better than the TRX. So I had a look at the marked and fell in love with the Triumph Street Triple 675 during a test drive. Bought one instantly right after the test drive and kept her for 7 years. But the TRX had to stay, too. In 2020, Triumph released the Street Triple 765R in black/red, and again I instantly felt in love seeing first pictures. So, the 675 had to go and brand new 765R moved in. Kept this one for 4 years and exchanged the Streety for a Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RR in summer 2024. |
